My Process
This is an illustration of a transverse cut through the human body that is located through half of the liver. As you can see, the inside of the stomach is visible. The painting is done in watercolor and I used a reference photo from the Visible Human Project. It is of a human female who was kept frozen then, cut into hundreds of slices. These references are free open source. I was able to render my reference photo by creating a sketch in prismacolor pencil. After that, I was able to begin layering paint with light washes. On the upper right corner is the compass showing which is Anterior, Posterior, Right and left.
Right now, I understand that my labels aren't perfect. I need to do a revision of this project making them more easily read. And also place them in a way that goes in the order of the list so it doesn't look so randomized to the reader. Soon, I will publish a revised copy to add to my portfolio!
